In some ways it only feels like 2 minutes ago that the school holidays were starting and I was planning the next 6 weeks full of activities and things to do. Life took a slight and unexpected twist and our plans changed. Those 6 weeks have flown by and there have been many changes, it is time I feel for an update on Things.
My eldest daughter has grown up so much in those school holidays. A year ago she started school unable to read and writing was a little shaky. Now she is strong and confident, reads everything and absorbs language. She has a real passion for learning and pink sparkly things, well some things never change. She has embarked on her second year at school and is now in the main part of the school with the big kids, not a new one anyone.
My youngest has grown up too. She has been watching and listening to her sister and is picking up on language and recognising letters and numbers whilst we are out. She has started school, only mornings at the moment but she absolutely loves it and takes great pride in wearing her uniform. Most days she won't take her uniform off and actually is disappointed at the weekends that she cannot wear it.
The two of them, Thing 1 and Thing 2, have an unbelievable bond and miss each other when they are not with each other.
At the start of the school holidays we decided to eat healthier and reduce the amount of sugar we ate. I started with nausea and fatigue which we thought were withdrawal symptoms from the sugar and to be expected. Whilst I continued with the diet things got worse, my weight increased and it was then we discovered an unexpected twist......
Yes, Thing 3!
The girls at first didn't really understand but as they watch my belly grow are incredibly excited and take every opportunity to tell anyone who will listen that their baby is in my belly. I am looking forward to documenting my journey with Thing 3 and announcing their arrival in March 2016!
This day I love An update on Things!
